The federal government has imposed a state of emergency to curb combating between rival gangs.
Tens of hundreds of suspected gang individuals had been arrested in El Salvador since overdue March, when the federal government imposed a state of emergency amid a surge in homicides.
Greater than 24,000 presumed gang individuals had been detained and in overdue April the federal government prolonged the emergency decree for any other 30 days because the roundups proceed.
The 2 major rival gangs working in El Salvador are the Mara Salvatrucha, extra repeatedly referred to as the MS 13, and the rival Barrio 18 or 18th Side road Gang. Each have their roots in Los Angeles in the USA.
What’s the reason why at the back of the rise in gang crime?
